Ramgharia Sikh Temple (Gurwara)

It was in 1977 that the Chelsea Road Gurdwara was first established . It had originally been the Gospel Hall of the Free Brethren (a small Protestant sect) in around 1901. After the war the building became a furniture store. In 1957 use was granted for a Jehovah’s Witness hall, though it is uncertain if this was every taken up. It may have continued as a furniture store until 1965 and thereafter it was used for plastics manufacture.. In 1986 an adjoining building (previously a leatherworkds) was purchased and work began to incorporate it into the existing Gurdwara.
