Halling Ferry

The Ferry between Halling and Wouldham was very ancient and lasted about 600 years. It closed in 1964 following the opening of the new Medway Bridge carrying the M2. In its last years it was run by the Stevens family, who also controlled the ferries at Snodland (closed 1948) and New Hythe.
