Gwennap Parish Church

The church is dedicated to Saint Wenappa, believed to have been a saintly woman who lived there in Celtic times.  The present church building dates from the 15th century.

The church was built on a monastic foundation dating from 500 A.D. and dates from 1200 A.D. to 1600 A.D. Drastic restoration in Victoria times removed some of the most interesting features such as bench ends and stained glass windows.  Victoria stained glass has been introduced which is most attractive.
