Cassandra Terry: A Basingstoke Mystery

Cassandra Terry of Down Grange, Basingstoke, lies buried outside her parish, tucked away behind the church at Eastrop. It was said that Cassandra and the young Jane Austen used to attend balls together at Basingstoke. Our researches have shown that this was highly unlikely, but the picture of Cassandra that emerges, is of a fascinating character who had an interesting life.

Content derived during research for the new VCH Hampshire volume, Basingstoke and its surroundings.
