Bosbury Probate Material - an Introduction

There are surviving probate documents for 210 Bosbury people who people who died up to and including 1700. These documents are kept at the Herefordshire Record Office and the National Archives at Kew. All the material pre-1700 is being transcribed by VCH volunteers. Some post-1700 wills of significant people, including clergymen, will also be transcribed.

These transcripts have modernised spellings of the body of the text and of place names, where identification is certain.  Names have been standardised,  but the original spellings of surnnames is given as a variant, e.g. Woddyng is given its modern form Wooding.

For ease of searching, the transcripts have been grouped into time periods:

1501-1540 probate material

1541-1560 probate material

1561-1580 probate material

1581-1600 probate material

1601-1620 probate material

1621-1640 probate material

1641-1660 probate material

1661-1680 probate material

1681-1700 probate material

1701 and later probate material
