Somerton Congregational chapel

This chapel in West Street was built in 1803 probably on the site of Thomas Barnard's house licensed for worship in 1798. The chapel was extended in 1822 and 1865 when the present frontage was built. The right-hand lecture hall was added in 1873. In 1851 up to 200 people attended services at the chapel, which remains open as a United Reform Church.
